Most chewing gum contains plastic - the same materials used in plastic bottles, glue and rubber tyres. True Gum is different: a plastic-free alternative made with plant-based flavours. And it's vegan - no animal-derived ingredients.
FREE FROM PLASTIC AND SYNTHETICS
Instead of a plastic-filled gum base, we make True Gum with chicle - sap from the sapodilla tree. That makes it a plastic-free, plant-based gum. Our chicle is tapped by local 'chicleros' in Central America, using a technique practised for centuries.
MADE IN TRUE GUM'S OWN LITTLE GUM FACTORY
The journey of True Gum started in 2017. Four friends cracked a plastic-free gum recipe. That passion project grew into True Co, and today each piece of gum is made in our own little factory just outside Copenhagen.
NO ASPARTAME, NO BHA
Unlike many conventional gums, True Gum contains no aspartame and no BHA - a synthetic antioxidant flagged as a possible hormone disruptor. For sweetness we use plant-based stevia and xylitol: stevia comes from plant leaves, xylitol from birch trees - and xylitol is a tooth-friendlier choice than sugar.
